On October 1, 2026, SuretyBind announced that Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has joined as an Associate Member. SuretyBind is the surety technology company formed in December 2025 by Chubb, The Hartford, Liberty Mutual, and Travelers.

SuretyBind’s release quotes BHSI’s Geoff Delisio, who called SuretyBind an initiative that “brings the industry together around meaningful innovation” and said BHSI looks forward to contributing to and learning from fellow members. SuretyBind’s chief technology officer said BHSI’s support reinforces “industry-backed innovation focused on real business needs and practical implementation.”
The release does not describe a BHSI product, integration, or role beyond associate membership.
SuretyBind’s December 8, 2025 launch release set two initial initiatives:
SuretyBind says participation will be open to all sureties and brokers in the U.S. surety market, and that its activities are conducted under strict antitrust supervision.
BHSI is the second associate member on SuretyBind’s own press page, after Zurich (May 18, 2026). Merchants Bonding separately announced associate membership on July 13, 2026, describing itself as the “initial associate member.” It does not appear on SuretyBind’s press page, so we treat that as Pending.
Pending: SuretyBind says it expects to begin offering its services in 2027. No product or verification process has been published yet.
