ANV Group Holdings has completed its acquisition of Assured Underwriting Group (AUG), a London-based managing general agent that underwrites insurance-backed travel bonds and related financial-protection products for tour operators across the United Kingdom and Europe.

Per Insurance Business (UK, Oct 6, 2026) and AUG’s own announcement (Oct 6, 2026):
AUG was founded in 1983 and is headquartered in London. Company materials and the Insurance Business report state that AUG serves more than 1,600 clients across more than 10 European countries, with offices in France and Germany.
Insurance Business and AUG’s site describe three businesses under the AUG banner:
| Business | Public role (as sources state) |
|---|---|
| Travel & General Insurance Services (t&g) | Specialist travel-industry insurer; described as the UK’s largest / leading provider of insurance-backed travel bonds (company / trade claim) |
| Arcus Solutions | European MGA distributing surety bonds for the travel sector direct and via brokers; French company (SARL) with staff in France, Germany, and London (AUG site) |
| ABTOT | Membership association; AUG describes it as an Approved Body appointed by the UK Department for Business and Trade, operating a regulated financial-protection bonding scheme for travel organisers under UK travel regulations (AUG / ABTOT page) |
AUG also underwrites financial failure insurance and provides consulting on UK and EU travel-regulation obligations, per the company release.
Under the Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018, UK tour operators must hold insolvency protection as a condition of trading. That obligation can be met through bonds, insurance, or a trust arrangement. AUG underwrites products that sit in that compliance chain — a structural demand profile rather than a purely discretionary purchase.
The regulatory frame is also changing. The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements (Amendment) Regulations 2026 (SI 2026/455) come into force on 6 April 2027. Insurance Business reports that the reforms widen the legal definition of a package holiday so that certain bundled arrangements currently outside the regime become full packages — bringing new organisers into insolvency-protection requirements for the first time. Confirm commencement and scope on legislation.gov.uk.
A longer Global Guarantors explainer on UK travel bonds and the April 2027 package-travel changes is on the editorial backlog; this news brief does not attempt that full treatment.
Insurance Business describes ANV as a Blackstone-backed platform formed in December 2025 when AmTrust Financial Services and Blackstone Credit & Insurance spun several specialist MGA and fee-based businesses into an independent platform. AUG’s CEO Richard Watson and ANV’s chairman and CEO Adam Karkowsky both framed the deal as supporting continued UK and European growth while keeping AUG’s specialist travel-protection focus.
This note does not rank carriers, invent premiums or capacity, or advise on which insolvency-protection option an organiser should use. For directory context on ANV / AUG / Arcus / ABTOT as publicly described, see the companion underwriter directory entry: ANV / Assured Underwriting Group.
